This is a difficult bit.

This beautiful weather is drying the clay really well so I needed to turn this piece today. I must do this when the clay is at exactly the right consistency. Too wet and it will collapse, too dry and the slip will not adhere to the surface.

Psyching myself up, this one is 130 kg. It needs to be one fluid consistent movement, I can’t not manage this halfway or it will dent or split.

I lifted the weight, now I have to lower it down smoothly.

Done, I will shape the base with the bat and then tomorrow, when it is a bit dryer I will do the detailing on the surface.
