The detail is integral.
I have now painted coloured slip into lines which I drew into the surface. I love the way these lines bend around the contours of the surface. The green line is a perfect circle, drawn with a compass. It’s amazing to see how distorted it is by the form.
The pale line will fire to this lovely soft orange colour, it’s going to be really difficult to see it when I try to draw it through the slip surface that I will soon covet it with!
Just turned, now I need to smooth this base out.
Drawing the lines with a sharp knife. I will inlay coloured slip into them.
