I never said it was Easy!
I could have tried to mend it, but the likelihood of it re-cracking in the kiln is very high as its integrity is now severely compromised and I still have weeks of work left to complete it. I would prefer to make one that I know is strong (and perfect).
It cracked where I brought out the side to make it oval, it was dodgy but I wanted it to be that shape, so I will just have to try again.
I have cut it apart and layered the pieces of clay on plastic (all 135 kilos!). I will spray the pieces with water every day until they re-absorb the moisture.
This will take about a week, in which I am going to have a little rest and wait for my heart to mend so that my mind and body are able to start again.
