Rain rain go away!
Today I am feeling for all the people who have worked so hard to make the RHS Show at Chatsworth House such a success this year. It is only ten minutes from my garden, so I guess the weather is as wet there as it is here.
The one consolation is that the colours in the garden look stunning when everything is so wet.
I have been in the workshop which is all warmed up by the kiln. This piece is almost complete, though this part is the most dodgy as there is a great deal of weight which would happily collapse now.
These pieces are inspired by a tiny toadstool whose centre was shifted due to its difficult growing conditions. I loved that it survived adversity and it’s shape bore witness to this struggle.
This is where my drawings took me.
